Biogenic carbonH.0.ME. S.R.L. · Avellino, Italy · Est. 2019
We design and build prestige homes with a timber frame
and in-situ cast hemp-lime walls — bespoke, for those who choose
to live in harmony with the natural world.
Conventional construction accounts for roughly 40% of global CO₂ emissions. H.0.ME. was founded to prove that building better is entirely possible — and that “better” means healthier, more beautiful and more enduring.
We are a bespoke construction and consultancy atelier for prestige properties, based in Avellino. We design and build with a timber frame and hemp-lime walls, using the construction system documented by Hemp Eco Systems (Switzerland) — 25 years of research and development, now available in Italy.

We do not build in series. Every project begins with deep listening: to the client, the site, the light. We bring together engineering, architectural and research expertise to provide comprehensive consultancy — from the first conversation to final sign-off.

Before they are technology, they are nature. Three materials you can touch, smell and feel breathing — and together they become a home.

Biogenic carbon
Lime
It supports vapour migration; condensation and mould also depend on build-up, installation, ventilation and use.
Vapour permeable
Timber
A structure that stays alive: it works with time and accompanies those who live in it.

The wall
Three elements become one: a monolithic, continuous envelope without joints.
Seamless wallWe distinguish test data, manufacturer declarations, patents and estimates still under validation, with their applicable scope.
Hemp stores biogenic carbon; the building’s net balance depends on the complete project and must be quantified by LCA. H.0.ME.’s estimate is undergoing independent validation.

DiscoverWe use the HES hemp-lime system, supported by LVS EN ISO 17050-1 documentation and data measured at Vilnius Gediminas University and the BRE Centre, University of Bath.
We do not build in series. Every project begins with deep listening — to the client, the site, the light. Our deliberate scale is a quality choice, not a constraint.
Hemp stores biogenic carbon and lime carbonates over time. The net balance depends on the complete building and is quantified through a full LCA; H.0.ME.’s estimate is undergoing independent validation.
Engineers, architects, researchers — full coverage from concept to sign-off. Collaboration with Tecnovia S.r.l. (MIUR-qualified laboratory) and advanced training at Palazzo Fortuny, Venice.
The system is grounded in patent US 10,266,451 A1 (PCT/CH2015/000085) — a method for producing the hemp-lime biocomposite with a patented volcanic additive (HES-Plus). 25+ years of European R&D.
1st place in the SPIN Invitalia competition (74 pts phase 1, 78 pts phase 2). “Breathing House” project admitted to the Università Guglielmo Marconi incubator.

H.0.ME. LCA study
In HES’s 2016 monitoring of two classrooms, the room with 1.5 cm of HES-Wall render recorded a 27% lower CO₂ peak. This result applies to that test, not universally.

Every project is carefully chosen. We work exclusively with natural materials.
Every service begins with a bespoke consultation.
We design buildings with a timber structure and an in-situ cast HES hemp-lime envelope. HES composition is checked in the product data sheet; performance in the project.
We accompany you from concept to executive design. Technical feasibility studies, architectural design, structural and seismic assessment, energy certification, specification with natural materials. Also available for third-party projects seeking to incorporate the HES system.
We operate as developer for residential and commercial real estate projects using natural construction technology — from land scouting to the finished property, destined for sale or premium rental. The HES system as a market differentiator and source of added value.
Restoration and refurbishment of historic buildings, villas and prestige properties exclusively with natural materials and techniques compatible with the existing fabric — HES-Wall™ renders, rising damp remediation, acoustic and thermal improvement without altering the character of the place.

The essentials on hemp-lime building, costs, guarantees for international clients and where we build.
It pairs a timber load-bearing frame with a hemp-shiv, lime and mineral-additive biocomposite (HES-mix), cast in situ as a monolithic wall. Wall continuity reduces joints; thermal bridges, performance and requirements are verified on the complete design and built junctions.
The product documentation reports a B-s1-d0 reaction-to-fire class for the biocomposite. Seismic suitability concerns the complete structural design and must be verified for the site, geometry and applicable rules.
HES data indicate performance up to energy class A4 with 35 cm of HES-mix in climate zone D, subject to project-specific verification. H.0.ME.’s carbon-balance LCA estimate is undergoing independent validation under EN 15978.
Yes — we act as a General Contractor for international investors building or renovating prestige properties in Italy. The contract defines milestones, verification and payments. Notarial escrow for construction milestones may be proposed case by case, only where a willing notary and the contract define its conditions and costs.
We are based in Campania (Avellino) and operate throughout Italy, with a focus on areas with strong international appeal: the Amalfi Coast, Cilento, Salento, Tuscany/Tuscia, Marche and Monferrato.
Yes. Beyond new builds, we renovate fine properties and ruins with natural materials. HES-Wall may be applied to compatible substrates; where rising damp is present, its causes, salts and masonry condition must first be diagnosed before defining the remediation build-up.
Tell us about your project. We will respond within 48 working hours with a preliminary assessment — no obligation.
The first consultation is complimentary and without commitment. We will tell you immediately whether the HES system is right for your project — with honest, artisanal candour.
