How we work
- Free first consultation. Tell us about the building you have today and the home you want.
- Site visit. We assess the existing building, the plot and the access on site; with the design team we check the local planning rules.
- Design. We design the new home and prepare the building permit application and the works programme.
- Demolition and site preparation. The old building makes way for the new construction site.
- Construction and handover. Timber structure, hemp-lime envelope of the HES system (Hemp Eco Systems), for which H.0.ME. holds the licence in Italy, services and finishes, through to the keys.
What we need and what we check
For the first meeting, the documents you already have are enough: title deed, floor plans and permits of the existing building, a few photos. During the site visit we check:
- the condition of the building and the materials to be separated and disposed of;
- access to the plot for demolition and construction vehicles;
- existing utility connections to keep or relocate;
- with the design team, the local planning rules and any constraints.
The demolition
Demolition is controlled: materials are separated on site and taken to authorised facilities, then the plot is prepared for the new foundations. From that point on, it is the building site of a new home.
The new home: timber and hemp-lime
The timber structure is light and precise. Around it, the hemp-shiv and lime biocomposite is cast on site, creating a continuous envelope in a single pour, breathable and able to absorb and release the moisture in the air.
