We build new homes with a load-bearing timber structure and hemp-lime walls cast on site, and hand them over turnkey. H.0.ME. works as a general contractor: you have one point of contact from the first site visit to the day you get the keys, on your own plot or in place of an existing building that is demolished and rebuilt. We are based in Avellino and build throughout Italy.
What turnkey includes

Timber and hemp-lime, together
Timber carries the loads: it is light, precise and quick to erect. Around the structure, the hemp-shiv and lime biocomposite of the HES system (Hemp Eco Systems) is cast on site; H.0.ME. holds the licence for Italy. The result is a continuous envelope, made in a single pour rather than from stacked blocks, breathable and able to absorb and release the moisture in the indoor air.
Each home is designed for its site and for the people who will live in it. There is no catalogue of models: we start from the place, the light and the way you want to live.
What it costs
The price of a house is shaped above all by the finishes you choose: floors, windows, bathrooms, kitchen and services. That is why the quote is bespoke and prepared after the site visit, on your design, item by item.
Timescales
From the opening of the site to handover takes from 6-8 months upwards, depending on the type and size of the home. Design and permits come first and have their own timescales, which we set out in writing in the works programme together with the construction phases.
On your plot or in place of the old house
We build on buildable land you own, or we demolish an existing building and build a new one in its place, in timber and hemp-lime. For the second option, see our page on demolition and rebuilding.
